Explore family ties, history and society across Ireland. Experts from PRONI, the National Archives of Ireland, Ulster Historical Foundation, North of Ireland Family History Society, LibrariesNI and many other societies and organisations will be on hand to advise on your research.

A programme of talks will showcase the wide range of heritage products and services throughout Ireland.

For further information see Family and Local History Fair and List of Exhibitors.

COMMENT: I bumped into Gavin at PRONI yesterday - the team there are really looking forward to the weekend, there should be some great talks happening and the place will be busy with vendors - you can also get some research in via the self-service microfilms area, and with various books and other resources (though there won't be any archive productions). He mentioned that Belfast is a bit surreal just now - everywhere you go there are people with FBI t-shirts and NYPD tops on! It's all part of the World Police and Fire Games which got underway yesterday, and which will continue in the city until August 10th. I experienced that myself when heading for the bus after my research visit - it's a real multicultural event, there's a great buzz in the city just now, so do head along to Belfast and to PRONI if you can. Should be a great event! :)
