Plymouth and Devon records on FindmyPast

Many years back I lived in Plymouth for four years as a kid, with my youngest brother actually born there. Sadly our time there was just a bit too recent for the new Plymouth and Devon Collection now available on FindmyPast (www.findmypast.co.uk), which covers the period from 1538 to 1911, but give it a hundred years or so and our story will sine from the site!

The new Plymouth and West Devon Collection contains information on some 3.5 million people from baptism, marriages and burials, as sourced from Plymouth City Council's Plymouth & West Devon Record Office. The site has details at www.findmypast.co.uk/content/news/plymouth-may12, with the collection itself searchable at www.findmypast.co.uk/search/parish-records/baptisms. Details on the record office are also on the site at www.findmypast.co.uk/content/plymouth-devon/about.

(With thanks to FindmyPast)
