Northern Scotland journal - free sample issue

The Scottish Association of Family History Societies ( is carrying a news item on a new version of a journal entitled Northern Scotland, which was first established in 1972. It underwent something of a revamp in 2010, and is now available online via, with an annual personal subscription for a print copy or online edition at £23.50. This entitles you to the whole current volume (it is published annually) and access to many articles going back to 2000.

However, if you wish to test the water with it, there is a free edition available online, which contains the following articles in PDF format:
